This article was written by Thomas L. Friedman in the New York Times on January 21, 2009. This item was written kinda as an introduction to Obama's presidence, and his opinon on the governement. Friedman is showing how far this country as come from the Great Depression to Martin Luther King Jr. "I have a Dream" speech, and now a black President. The author is also acknowledging how President Bush messed up the economy and now Obama is supposibly going to fix everything.
I think this artcile was directed to really everyone. Mainly to democrats and people who voted for Obama though, and to who ever; which should be everyone, who wants to help this country and our economic problem. The author is arguring that its time for a change in America. And supposibly Barack Obama is going to do it. Fridman argues that Bush put this country in a very deep whole and he hopes Obama swings for the fence and hopes he doesn't forget to run the bases. In my opinon only God can save this country.
