In the article by Thomas L. Friedman he is writing about the history that was made when Obama took office has our new president. He was look back at the history of America to see how far we have came. From the slavery era to Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speak. He was also looking at the history of the government and of the country. We have came a long way and still have a long ways to go.
The article was from the New York Times it was written this month after Obama was up into office. It was written to give Americans an understanding of the history in the making and past history. Many people in this day and time have forgot what happened in the U.S. Many think its the past and nothing else but in this article it's much more it is life and freedom. History is what make the U.S. what it is to help and guide us through the struggle that are here and whats to come. The target audience would be everyone in America. Like I said above to give them the history of what this country went thought to get this far in it's life.
I would say the argument in this article is for the president to do what he said he would do. But like many for the president before him stop saying your going to do it and do it. Like Obama said in the beginning of his election we need the CHANGE. We need to start over and have a new beginning to get own country back in order and on the right path and in the right direction.
